Hello! I’m Prakruthi

I'm a Product Designer (UX UI) based in Berlin.

I started my career as an architect and interior designer, so I’m a big fan of cross collaboration and getting out of your comfort zone! I'm excited about working in all mediums in digital space.

When I’m not working, I'm seen obsessing over desserts and exploring new gelato flavours to try. 🍦

After being an architect for 4 years, and a product designer for 2 years I believe product designing is simply a different medium of architecture

ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO

I am from Bangalore, India. I spent most of my summers sketching, painting, making diy crafts and exploring my creative side from a young age.

I graduated with a Bachelors in Architecture in 2019 and practiced as an architect for almost 4years, during my professional journey I was able to articulate design and solve problems in design both off-site and on-site. Being an architect was very satisfying and gave me great joy in seeing the executed projects I designed and led.

In 2022, I made the move to product design after pondering on three main factors:

1. SPEED
Buildings and cities take a long time to design and construct. With a minimum build time of 2 years, we have incredibly slow design cycles. Product design can have design cycles of 2 weeks.
Another pro for increasing the frequency of design cycles is increasing your opportunity for creative brilliance. If the very nature of your career throttles your creative production, then you are at a distinct disadvantage.

2. ITERATION
The ability to iterate your design after it’s built gives you power over its success! Iterating and learning after a building is built is nearly impossible. Building and designing digitally offers unlimited scope to learn and iterate.

3. MEASURING GOALS
Having measurable goals gives you clear success metrics. In architecture, the main goal is to appease the client. While this still reigns true in product & UX design, you have a clear measurable goal in the form of a KPI or key performance indicator that you track
